You will give so much, and love your all, until one day, you can’t give anymore.

It’s like karma biting back at me. Loving someone so much, and not getting the same measure in return. It feels like you have ran a mile, and the other person have only inched across the room.  When you give your best and expect heartfelt appreciation, you only get a “Thanks”.

You will give so much, and love your all, until one day, you can’t give anymore.

Why do we love? We love, to be loved in return.
In our purest of hearts and most naïve of minds, we love more, thinking we will receive more love in return.

And when we don’t get the measure of love we think we deserve, we put more effort in loving.  And we try even harder. The harder it is, the more desirable the other person seems. And time after time, we stretch our capacity to love, in hopes of reciprocation at a level we expect. What more, since so much effort had already been put in! The cycle continues – Love, expect more love back, didn’t meet expectation, love more, expect more….

Each time the expectation is not met, disappointment accumulates. With each disappointment, your expectation decreases. As your expectations drop, your efforts dip.

Finally, you come to a point where you do not expect anymore. Then it doesn’t matter whether the person reciprocates anymore. You have also given up loving.

What color do you feel like today?

After Hari Raya & exam break plus two days of MC.. I kinda don't feel like going back to work.. However,
Mr Sunflower is always there to make my day. I knew I was going to meet him for dinner tonight.
At noon he sent me this sms:

I just randomly replied "Pink", the first color I thought of.

Time passed relatively slowly after lunch... and finally it was 6:30pm and I was ready to leave to meet him! He sent me another sms:

That got me a little puzzled, but I played along...and these were his replies.

To my surprise... he rushed down all the way from camp with this!!! Here I go again..*blush*

That was sweetest thing ever! I asked, so why all these man.. He said, "I just wanted to court you all over again.." Aww...
Hmm wondered what he would have gotten me if I had responded during noon with a color like black, green or cyan...

Evening out at Siglap

Decided on Siglap for dinner. We went ahead not knowing what to find, nor expect.. and landed here in this Japanese restaurant - It looks like a set from a Japanese movie! We stepped in, we feel so jap in here! There were also small little rooms where guests could be seated on the floor. Wish I had photos of those.

We had a sushi set for dinner. Ray, who doesn't eat raw fish, had some scrumpilitious sashimi on rice for the first time!
Each wasabi-embellished piece sent burning sensations up my nose, but I enjoyed nonetheless.

Next, we went two shops down to The Cheesecake Cafe. We felt so indie, enjoying life like that - a luxury when both of us are always so busy. Me with work, studying, drumming stuff and catching up with old friends, Ray with NS, his drumming stuff and art projects. I guess it's a good date - and we secretly want to live an indie life like this together... Like John Lennon and Yoko Ono. ha. But neither of us shall die young. Choy...

looking at this photo I took of Ray, it reminded me of another photo. It seemed we have the same smile in these two photos ahaa...my tian we look so similar.

And I guess that will be my last luxury of the month, as my expenses have gone outta control last month and there's an upcoming paper to mug for. I need more dough!!!
